Apure’s Opus System Wins Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016
Miami, FL - July 4, 2016 - Apure Architectural Lighting is proud to announce that its Opus System, designed by the world-renowned Porsche Design Studio, has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. This international distinction recognizes the Opus System for its exceptional design quality, combining absolute functionality with a timeless aesthetic.
The Opus System was created with the goal of minimizing time-restrained design language while allowing for maximum variability and adaptability. This is further enhanced by a wide range of surface finishes, including gold-plated and chrome variants, which add glamorous highlights to any interior. The durability of the Opus System is ensured through the use of high-quality materials, such as aluminum extrusions and CNC-machined components, with the signature Apure louver serving as a cross-product feature.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is judged by an independent panel of 41 experts from around the world, who assess each entry based on criteria such as degree of innovation, formal quality, functionality, and ecological compatibility. The jury’s recognition of the Opus System highlights Apure’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and technology in architectural lighting.
The award ceremony took place on July 4, 2016, at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany. The Opus System, along with other award-winning products, was showcased in the special exhibition "Design on Stage" for four weeks before becoming part of the museum's permanent collection.
